Scar hair transplantation is a medical-aesthetic treatment that seeks to replace hair in areas where there are visible scars on the scalp, beard, eyebrows or any other hairy area. These scars may be due to accidents, previous surgeries, burns or dermatological diseases.
We analyze the scar and its causes to determine if a hair transplant can be performed. It is important that there are good conditions, especially blood in the area.
Follicular units (groups of 1, 4 or more hairs) are extracted with the FUE technique, from a donor area of the patient (posterior and/or lateral).
The follicles are carefully implanted in the scar area, using the DHI (Direct Hair Implant) technique, with the use of Implanters, which allow the angle and direction to be respected so that the growth is natural.
Depending on the size of the treated area, it usually recovers in a few days. The new hair will start to grow gradually from the 3rd, 4th month and it will take a year to reach the final result.
It is important to know that the percentage of graft growth in a scar can vary, unlike in healthy tissue. Some grafts will not grow due to the state of the scar tissue. However, the results can be very favorable, considering the initial state.
