Hair transplant was for transgender patients

Hair transplant with FUE technique (Follicular Unit Extraction) is a minimally invasive procedure that offers very natural results. For transgender people, this technique can be a fundamental part of the gender affirmation process, helping to align their external image with their gender identity.

The FUE technique consists of extracting hair follicles one at a time from the donor area (the posterior or occipital and lateral part of the scalp) and transplanting them to the areas that present baldness or loss of hair density. The implantation technique we use is DHI (Direct Hair Implant). It leaves no visible scars and has a faster recovery time than other techniques.

Benefits for transgender people

Feminization or masculinization of the face: In transfeminine people, a more rounded and softer frontal line, typical of a feminine hair pattern, can be designed. In transmasculine individuals, the procedure can strengthen receding hairline, fill in bald spots or even help with beards or sideburns.

Customized results: Transplant design is tailored to each patient’s facial characteristics, gender identity and aesthetic goals.

Supporting emotional well-being: Correcting hair loss or modifying hair growth patterns can increase self-esteem and reduce appearance-related gender dysphoria.

Important considerations

Prior medical evaluation: An initial assessment is essential, it is important to have a qualified team with sensitivity towards trans health.

Hormonal therapies: Hormonal treatment may influence hair loss or hair growth and should be taken into account when planning the transplant.

Inclusive hair design: The aesthetic differences between male and female hair patterns must be understood in order to achieve a natural result that respects the patient’s gender identity.
